Toby Larson, Pastor

Meet our Pastor and his family...

Toby Larson is the founding pastor of Celebration Anglican Church. He received his M.Div. and Th.M. degrees in 1998 from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, MA. His post M.Div. work was in biblical theology, namely in how the Old Testament connects with the New. Toby was ordained into the Episcopal Church in 2005 but with its rapid changes in doctrine and pracice he sadly felt compelled by the Lord Jesus Christ to leave the Episcopal Church, the denomination in which he, as a boy, came to know Christ as Lord. Toby now happily holds credentials as an Anglican Priest in the Convocation of Anglicans in North America (CANA).

Prior to living in greater Washington DC, Toby served congregations in Charlotte, NC, and Abingdon, VA. He and his wife, Cynthia, lived in Beijing in the 1990s. They worked in Chinese television radio news, and film, and in business. They fell in love with the people in Asia, and return as often as they can. Toby also loves sport, especially tennis and skiing, and loves to cheer on his children who swim, play golf and baseball, and loves to play with his two-year-old son who runs after any ball rolled along the floor. His wife, Cynthia, received a MA in Missions and Evangelism from Gordon-Conwell in 1995, and she and their five children, Acacia, Tolly, Lena, Clare, and Ethan, are active partners in planting this new church.
